Join us for our our July open afternoon in the garden. It’s a lovely time to come and hang out in the garden in all its high summer glory. We will have our selection of herbal teas and cake for sale. There will also be a selection of plants available for purchase on the day as well as our herbal tea packs, pamphlets and journals. There will be a drop-in Cyanotype/ Sun-printing Workshop between 3-4pm provided that the sun is out and shining. We are also going to run a Plant Swap as part of the event.

We are excited to be collaborating with Mike’s Table for a special summer solstice supper club and herbal workshop. Together we’ll be celebrating the longest day of the year and official start to summer on the 21st June at Trowbridge Gardens in Hackney Wick. The event is being hosted by the garden’s on-site cafe, Thingy Cafe. 

Join us in celebration of the summer solstice for an open evening in the Herb Garden. As part of the event we will be running a free Herbal Tea Blending workshop. We’ll also gather to do a Solstice ritual together as part of the event. Teas and light refreshments will be available and we will have a small plant sale. The event is free but donations are always welcome!

Come and see what’s happening in the Herb Garden this spring. It’s a chance to visit the garden and spend time with others. To celebrate Earth Day, we’ll be hosting a talk as part of the event and discuss how herbs can massively increase biodiversity and support wildlife. We will have some of our seed boxes out from the Seed Swap so you can get some free seeds if you missed our swap.

Join us for a special workshop as part of the Barbican’s Fertile Ground event. As part of the event, Nat is doing a talk celebrating 10 Years of Hackney Herbal. She will be in conversation with Herbologist Maya Thomas.

Join us for a spring seed swap! You don’t have to donate seeds if you don’t have any, you can come and collect some seeds. The Herb Garden will also be open and we will have herbal tea, cakes and some plants for sale. Please bring a cup/mug for tea to help us reduce waste at the event! This is a free event open to all.

We will be having a little get together in celebration of Imbolc - the Gaelic festival marking the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. We’ll have warm drinks, hot soup and a fire to keep us cosy!

As part of Capital Growth's Good To Grow Week, we’ll be hosting an informal talk at the herb garden, and discuss how herbs can massively increase biodiversity and support wildlife.

We’ll touch on the many roles plants can play; how we can have a beneficial environmental impact even when gardening in small urban spaces; and look at some specific examples in the garden of both wild and cultivated herbs.

Join Nat from Hackney Herbal for a talk about the garden spaces at Trowbridge Gardens as part of Open House Festival. We'll be talking about our planting philosophy and the work that we do here. We'll explore some of the plants growing and talk about the roles they play focusing on the theme of edible and medicinal plants as well as those that are important for wildlife and biodiversity.

This is an opportunity to come hang out in the garden and enjoy the herbs that are coming up now. We’ll have a drop-in seed sowing workshop, our seed swap boxes will be out again, and there will also be some plants and our tea blends for sale and lovely hot tea to drink on the day.
