We are excited to be collaborating on a special summertime remedies workshop with The Brunel Museum as part of their Summer of Sustainability. The workshop takes place in the beautiful herb garden at the Museum. We will explore the plants growing there and introduce you to a number of culinary, wild and medicinal plants and how they can be used for health and wellbeing. We will talk you through the health benefits of a number of herbs with a focus on plants at their seasonal best.
We will then show you how to make your own herbal vinegar remedy. This can be taken as a daily tonic, enjoyed in cooking or used as a specific remedy. You’ll get to pick your own selection of herbs from the garden and make a jar of tonic to take home.
The session will cover:
The health benefits, properties and histories of a mix of common and lesser known herbs
An introduction to a range of edible and medicinal plants
How to harvest herbs at their seasonal best
Combining fresh herbs and apple cider vinegar to make a jar of tonic to take home
The event takes place at the Brunel Museum, Railway Avenue, Rotherhithe, London, SE16 4LF.
